While browsing the VMware forums, I came across a post on how to test SRM for free using a demo EMC Celerra virtual appliance. It enables you to configure iSCSI storage, enable replication, and then layer SRM on top of it. If you are curious about SRM and want to test it in a lab before purchasing it, this looks like a good solution.
I haven’t tried this myself, as I’m focusing on vSphere and the current version of SRM only works with 3.5. There’s a rumored beta of SRM 4.0 going on, but will likely be towards the end of the year before it’s RTM.
